Voo's recovery (or lack thereof)

I've been taking Voo to see Dr. Ley at the West Flamingo Animal Hospital here in Las Vegas.

While she isn't a Bengal specialist (yet, she will be once Voo sees her again), I'm sure that she'll be one within a year or so :P She's really nice and takes the time to figure out the intricacies of your pet, as well as doing additional research to ensure that her info is up-to-date.

I'm a research freak, so I usually spend quite a bit of time talking to Voo's breeders (Kajari Bengals) and looking online for questions that I should be asking. Dr. Ley is always accommodating, and I cannot stress it enough, the importance of getting a vet that your pet (and you) feel comfortable with.

On to Voo, I was told that he needs to be confined, with no running, jumping, climbing for 7-10 days. Yeah.... right. I had problems confining him for more than 7 HOURS, let alone 7 days.

But he is healing very well, thankfully he's back to his old self.

Quick update

Finals are just around the corner, which means we are into the "famine" period of the blog.

A quick update, Voo just went to the vet to get neutered :(

He wasn't pleased at all. I was told to expect him to be out for most of the night... ya, I wish! He was all "MEOOOOOOWWWRRRRRRR" from the vet till we got home. Once I let him out, he wanted to play fetch. Seriously, my cat is psycho. I am glad to report that he's eating a lot the morning after surgery. I doubt that there will be any problems regarding his recovery.

Thanks goes out to West Flamingo Animal Hospital and Dr. Ley for taking good care of Voo. I'm sure he appreciates it too.

Back to hitting the books!

Here's 1 more vid till after finals season!

Voo Vs. Pigeons

Decided to take Voo out to practice his hunting skills on the pigeons coo'ing outside my place. Not too exciting, but he just needs practice.

Voo playing in water.

Partially filled the tub, tossed in a packing peanut and Voo followed it in. He enjoys himself so long as the water stays warm. I don't blame him, I hate freezing bath water too.

No, he wasn't forced in there, if a cat doesn't want to be in water, he'll try to get out, even if it means clawing you to ribbons in the process.

My lil monster is progressing nicely. He's about 8lbs, and gaining 2lbs a mth. I'm sure the 1+cup of food he eats has something to do with it. In addition to the salmon and hamachi sashimi he gets whenever I have Japanese food. It's the... good life!

I've spoken to the vet, and she said that the weight he is gaining is all musculature and bones. He's maintaining the "slim" cat profile and isn't getting fat, so there's no need to ration his food. I will have to take him to get neutered soon though. :(

Here's Voo playing with the packing peanut while I splash him with water. He really doesn't mind it! O.o

Aren't Bengals awesome? :)

Collection of recent Voo pics

Here are a collection of pics I have taken over the past few weeks. I know the updates have been rather infrequent, but I have been up to my eyeballs in exams.

Voo's imitation of the famous "Monorail Cat".

One of his many disguises. I've coined this one "Yoda Cat".
Try or try not, there is no "Do".

I managed to bundle him up when he was sleeping. I know, I am a cheater!

It's actually really difficult getting him to sit still for pictures. He's always trying to play, run around and/or attack me. The dangling string on the camera doesn't help matters either.
