Voo's firsts!

Voo's growing really fast. Here are some vids of his "firsts". His first cricket and the first time I managed to ambush him (while he was sleeping) and throw the harness onto him. Trust me, it was not easy. It seemed like one moment, I ambushed a docile, "just awaking" kitten, and a second later, he transformed into a whirlwind of fur, fangs and claws.

And when Gotham city is in danger, there's.... the (Asian-esque) BAT CAT!
Naturally, Bat Cat wasn't all that pleased that I've exposed his secret identity.

I have you now!

Before I go into details, I would like to extend a very grateful "Thank you" to Greg and Misty from Kajari Bengals here in Las Vegas. They are truly wonderful people and their cats and kittens are brought up in a VERY warm and nurturing environment with lots of space to run around and plenty of interaction with people and other cats. I actually paid them a few visits before I picked my kitten and I have to say that I would recommend them, without any reservations, to anyone looking for a wonderful bengal kitten.

I couldn't wait and decided to get the lil-ball-of-fur on Thursday, a full day early. Went to the breeders, trusty cat carrier in hand, and picked up Voo. He was definitely not happy being confined in the carrier and meowed his lungs out throughout most of the trip home.

When we finally arrived back at his new home, he proceeded to bolt out of the carrier and set out exploring his new kingdom. I am still amazed how something so tiny can contain that much energy. He is basically running circles around me while I sit there getting dizzy.

I am very happy to say that he required no time getting acclimatized to his new surroundings and was eating, drinking and playing immediately. He knew how to use his litter box too, which is always a good thing.

My next kitty project is to train him to use the toilet. No more buying/scooping/vacuuming of litter would be an awesome thing.

More updates to come,

Now for the vids!

I am master (for now)

With all the requests for information, I have decided to start blogging about the latest edition to the family, Vooshka, or Voo for short.

Voo is a silver spotted male Bengal kitten, about 9 weeks of age as of Monday, Aug 13, 2007 (I'll have more accurate info shortly).

If it all pans out, I will be bringing the lil' furball home on Friday, Aug 17. There's a bunch of shopping that still needs to be done, cleaning of the house and cat-proofing the various areas.

So in about 36 hrs, my life as "Master of the House" is about to change, dramatically. As a friend of mine so eloquently put it, with a cat, you're master for 1 week, slave for the rest his life.

I have a problem

As some of you readers know, I have moved from Hawaii to another state (in the US, not mind), and since I was unable to bring my trusty food guinea pig (aka Elaine, my sis) with me, I am stuck with living alone and cooking for one.

Naturally I intend to invite more clueless victims to sample my wares, but at this point in time, I have drastically reduced my cooking frequency as it is really REALLY boring cooking for one.

So... if you want to try some really good food (and are a hawt chick :P) please feel free to drop me an email. Unfortunately, I am unable to furnish any kind of airfare at this (or any) point in time.

The (hopefully) good news is that I will be blogging about things other than cooking. You'll get to read first hand abt my life (or apparent lack thereof) and all the things happening. Right now, I am visiting home and, as part of my family dinner thing-a-ma-jig, I contributed a dessert of profiteroles.

Here are the pics.
