Why my bed is messy

I've had a few people comment that my bed is constantly in a mess.

I USED to make my bed, but it generally remains that way for no more than a few hours. Here is evidence as to why I've decided to wave the white flag.

Notice how he realizes he's been spotted and decides to behave like he's not doing anything wrong, with an added "cute look" thrown in.

Winter Training: Part Deux

As some of you know, my sis (Elaine) and David visited me in Vegas over Christmas and New Year's eve. We drove up to go skiing twice in 3-days, and went up an additional time to take pictures. Since we weren't about to spend too much time up there, we decided that it would be a good thing to take Voo up for a continuation of his Winter Training. There were a few dogs around, and more than a few people stopped to comment on how strange it was seeing a cat walking on a leash (and that his coat has a wonderful pattern ^.^). I'm glad he's adventurous enough to want to walk around and explore his new surroundings. Nothing sucks more than taking your cat up there, only to have him cowering in a corner the moment he gets out of the car.

I usually prefer not to keep Voo in the car carrier while he's in the car. But that only works when there's someone else there to hold onto him. A cat, loose in the car is a definite recipe for disaster/clawed leather.

The sun was up, so Voo definitely felt warmer, and it also made for better pictures...

Found a chunk of ice to perch Voo on.

I am ALL oinked out

My sis and David are visiting Fabulous Las Vegas. As part of a visit with me, there's the decadent eating (naturally). Now, I'm truly not one to rave about "Ultimate" dishes. To date, there are only 3 dishes that I consider to be the pinnacle of culinary excellence:

1. Bak Chor Mee - Tai Hwa, Singapore (This is my #1 fav dish of all time)
2. Lobster Bisque - Marco Polo Hotel, The Brasserie, Singapore (Unfortunately no longer operating)
3. Creme Brulee - Bellagio, The Buffet, Las Vegas

I can honestly say that the creme brulee is *the* best I have ever tasted. It has a wonderfully silky smooth texture topped with a crisp, caramelized sugar top. It's just sweet enough to enhance the vanilla flavor.

Even though I am not a big fan of desserts, I do enjoy creme brulee, and in this instance, I consumed 5 of them. 5 more than I had planned, since I was already stuffed with all the other buffet goodies. It was seriously that good. If you are a foodie, you MUST run (not walk) to The Buffet at Bellagio.

Merry Christmas all blog readers!

Got bored one evening and decided that I should take a drive up to Mt. Charlestons to check out some snow! Naturally, it also occurred to me that since there was snow up there, that it would be an ideal time for me to introduce Voo to snow /crackle.

So... leash and kitty cage in hand (just in case he decides to extract revenge as we are traveling back), we set off on our 90 minute drive to go play in snow. It was nice to see snow, even though it was rather dark.

Voo did seem to take a great interest in the snow, but he definitely didn't like me piling snow on him.

May all readers have a safe and blessed Christmas and New Year's!

Enough talk, on to the pics!

Voo thrown into the first snowy area we stop at.

Voo with some snow on him. It umm.... snowed on him, honest! :P

Doesn't he look positively festive? :)

Post-Finals Period/Voo's Christmas

Finals are over and OMG am I glad that my first semester is done. I don't think I've ever been this stressed about school, ever! But it went relatively well, even though I didn't do nearly as well as I hoped.

I decided to get Voo a cat tree for Christmas.

It arrived a few days ago, and naturally, Voo wanted "help out" with the assembly. Here are some pics of how it went.

He REALLY loves the cat tree (so I won't need to duct tape him to it), especially the lil fuzzy ball hanging outside the house structure.

Here's Voo performing a Quality Assurance check on the rope thingie.

As expected, he just couldn't wait for me to finish the assembly and had to jump and run everywhere.

The fuzzy ball thingie that he loves so much. The tree comes with 3 balls, 2 primary ones, and 1 spare. But, knowing Voo will just tear them all up, I have 1 up, and 2 spares :P

NOT one of his more flattering shots

CYA (Or in this case, CMA) Post

So... I'm walking Voo (on a leash, DUH) and this lady with a yappy chihuahua comes out of her apartment. Naturally the dog goes bonkers, and I reel Voo's leash in till he has <2 feet of "give" from where my feet are.

This lady proceeds to tell me (in a rather hostile tone, I might add) that I am deliberately leaving Voo on the ground, not picking him up and I am enjoying the fact that the dogs get all worked up when they see him. I informed her that I was not trying to taunt any dog, that I was not obligated in anyway to "pick up my cat" and that since he's on a leash, I am complying with the City of Las Vegas' laws. My pet is under my control at all times, and if there's any attack, it's not due to any negligence on my part. (I would *NOT* want to risk losing Voo). After I said this, she proceeded to walk away, saying "You don't want to talk to me right now". O.o

Now, I've met MANY dog owners during my walk with Voo, and while the dogs do become yappy, no one every complains about him there. If anything, they are more O.o that a cat actually walks on a leash and doesn't transform into a mop.

This person in question has let her dog out of her apartment, without a leash, and it has run up to Voo and started barking. Nothing happened, but it was yelping like there was no tomorrow and she (mistakenly) thought I had hit the dog.

I've called the City of LV and confirmed that my interpretation of the law is accurate, and they have an official record of me making said inquiry, so along with this post, I've pretty much C'd-M-A. I hope I am just being paranoid, but in this litigious-crazy society, you can never tell.

My job here is done, back to studying!
