I miss Voo!!!
It's been a while since I last posted an update. Been busy with school, and then it was finals season, which is never a fun thing.
I spent a significant portion of my time ensuring that I got better grades than from the last semester. And naturally, Voo was there to add some variety in the routine.
Unfortunately, I had to go out of town for almost 3 weeks, and as a result, I haven't seen that monster since May 30. The options I considered were to either put him in the freezer and defrost him in the microwave when I got back (aka cryogenic suspension) or to hire a petsitting service.
After some consideration, I decided that Voo is probably too big to fit into my microwave and it would be best to hire someone to come in twice a week to look after him.
So.... it's been over 2 weeks without Voo and O-M-G do I miss him. I can't WAIT to haul myself to Vegas. Denise and Christian have been augmenting the petsitter's services by stopping by every so often to spend time with Voo. Thus far, the response has been very good and it seems like he welcomes just about anyone into the house with great eagerness (looks like my dream of having an attack cat will have to be shelved... for now :P ).
I plan to have the camera running when I get back. So if i don't forget to do that, I should have a vid to post in a few days!

Merry Christmas all blog readers!
Got bored one evening and decided that I should take a drive up to Mt. Charlestons to check out some snow! Naturally, it also occurred to me that since there was snow up there, that it would be an ideal time for me to introduce Voo to snow /crackle.
So... leash and kitty cage in hand (just in case he decides to extract revenge as we are traveling back), we set off on our 90 minute drive to go play in snow. It was nice to see snow, even though it was rather dark.
Voo did seem to take a great interest in the snow, but he definitely didn't like me piling snow on him.

Post-Finals Period/Voo's Christmas
Finals are over and OMG am I glad that my first semester is done. I don't think I've ever been this stressed about school, ever! But it went relatively well, even though I didn't do nearly as well as I hoped.
I decided to get Voo a cat tree for Christmas.
It arrived a few days ago, and naturally, Voo wanted "help out" with the assembly. Here are some pics of how it went.
He REALLY loves the cat tree (so I won't need to duct tape him to it), especially the lil fuzzy ball hanging outside the house structure.
Here's Voo performing a Quality Assurance check on the rope thingie.
As expected, he just couldn't wait for me to finish the assembly and had to jump and run everywhere.
The fuzzy ball thingie that he loves so much. The tree comes with 3 balls, 2 primary ones, and 1 spare. But, knowing Voo will just tear them all up, I have 1 up, and 2 spares :P

Updates soon(ish)!
I apologize for the lack of recent updates. Yes, I have actually been receiving complaints that there has been a lack of pics/vids.
Just so you know I'm in college too, and for the moment, my exams are running (and ruining) my life. No, I have not turned him into a rug (or mittens for that matter).
Voo's getting bigger with each passing day, and he's definitely getting the better of me. He's figured out how to slip out of his harness, how to open cupboard doors, and he's met his first stray cat while on a walk.
I am VERY proud to say that Voo exhibits a good deal of aggressive behavior when dealing with other cats. I am SO pleased he's got some spunk to him.
He's about the stage where he's entering his 2nd "Ugly Fuzzies" stage, whereby his darker fur outgrows his lighter fur and he has that, fuzzy kitten look, only he's big.
I am considering getting another kitten, probably with the same pattern as Voo, but with brown markings, instead of silver. I am hoping the other (female) kitten keeps Voo occupied by running him around when I am in class. I most certainly hope I don't get 2 cats that actively plot against me while I am at classes. Now wouldn't that be a sight. I get home only to get mobbed by two cats, when the plan was to have them keep each other company. :-\

AMBUSH!
Here's a little storyboard of Voo's first encounter with a vicious alien Facehugger...
Voo has had long day and he decided to take a leisurely nap on the chair....
Doesn't he look all peaceful and innocent? That's about to change.
Unbeknownst to him, a Facehugger is creeping up on his position!
Without warning, the Facehugger leaps and attacks the sleeping cat. Oh no!
Voo springs to action and vigorously defends himself from the alien attack.
Thanks to his recent "Anti-Facehugger" training (video coming soon), Voo manages to fight off the insidious alien. RAWR!
Victory! Voo prevails to fight another day.
I think he knows that I'm to blame for disturbing his nap though.
